How to cut up a pineapple (without wanting to pull all of your hair out)

For the longest time I was so petrified of pineapples.
I love the taste but I wouldn't buy them because the already cut up versions in their nice little packaging were so expensive and the actual pineapple.....  Are you kidding me?  That thing looks so daunting with all of it's pricks and huge froof of pineapple hair aka SPIKES!  I couldn't even hold the pineapple without having anxiety about what on earth I was going to do with it when I got home.  Inevidably, it would sit on my counter and rot, and it would be a sad pineapple.  Well my friends, there is no need for sad pineapples anymore!  You don't need to buy the overpriced pineapple at the store that is in the container.  You can process and cut up a pineapple in less than 3 minutes flat!  I assure you.  (Some of you may be like.. duhhhh) but for the rest of you..

Here's how I did it:

First, let's just marvel in the pineapple's terrifying stature. :)

Then I cut off both ends

Then I slice off the skin, trying to leave as much of the flesh as possible

Then I take a pairing knife (or a small knife) and try to cut out all of the little seeds and thorns

Then I slice them into 4 big slices, one on each side

Then I cube it up!  And BAM!  Diced pineapple for all to share!

Until next time friends
